The oil boom is already over for so many years. The focus is on efficiency like never before, also in oil and gas production. Jörg Eitler, Business Field Manager Oil & Gas at NETZSCH, shows you how to make your oil and gas production significantly more efficient with the help of a digital progressing cavity pump system with integrated monitoring.

Most of the oil fields can no longer be operated with conventional production using so-called horsehead pumps. This type of pumping system was developed in the 1920s. As it is very energy-intensive and expensive, it is increasingly being replaced by more modern and efficient pumps. The new systems offer complex monitoring of your oil production process. Why is this so important? It is no longer sufficient only to install a reliable pumping system in many applications for optimum production. Especially in oil fields with a very high water content (marginal fields), information about the condition of the well and the production system is crucial for efficient production. Therefore, it is essential for the user to "see" what is going on in the well. Based on the data obtained, pump operation can be automated so that you are guaranteed an optimum production rate at all times. Possible malfunctions are detected at an early stage. This minimizes your downtimes. The digital system monitoring from NETZSCH also serves as a data acquisition system that can provide information on the current status of the individual boreholes at any time, thus providing you with valuable data for analysis.
